Francesco Strazzari is Professor of International Relations. He specializes in peace and conflict studies and international security. His main research focus is on extralegal governance and political violence. He works on transnational organised crime, (counter)narcotics, arms and insurgent/terror groups along Europe’s borderlands and borderlands’ peripheries (e.g., the Sahelo-Saharan region, especially in Niger, Mali and Mauritania.
