Marco Frey was born in 1961. He holds a degree in Economic and Social Sciences from the Bocconi University, Milan, in 1986 and in 2000 he was awarded the Eisenhower Exchange Fellowship.
He is Full Professor of Economics and Business Management and leader of the Sustainability Management Research Lab (SuM) at Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, involving +35 researchers, with +50 ongoing research projects on sustainability management.
Currently, he is leading the SuM Research Team in two project funded by the European Commission with focus on Africa: Horizon2020 LEAP-RE, on sustainable business model for geothermal energy, and Horizon Europe AfricaMaVal, on the sustainability of the artisanal mining sector.
He has published more then 100 articles on major international journals on sustainability topics. Marco Frey is also chairman of Global Compact Network Italy Foundation, and President of the Scientific Committee of Symbola, Foundation for the Italian Qualities. He is also Professor at Iuss Pavia and senior fellow at Luiss Business School.
